ASC Staff are volunteers who work in dedicated teams and help plan out the convention in the months leading up to the convention. Departments Overview
Anthro SoCal has the following organizational structure for its volunteer team:

Business Division
- Accounting Department: Handles on-site cash management, cash flow, and budgeting.
- Art Show Department: Manages the Art Show space at the convention, overseeing works displayed and assisting in art purchases made by attendees.
- Charity Department: Coordinates charity fundraising, works with chosen nonprofits on on-site activities, and manages the charity auction process.
- Con Store Department: Determines merchandise selection, design, inventory management, order fulfillment, and operating con store.
- Maid Cafe Department: Operating the Fursuit Maid Café experience. Duties include facilitating the menu with the venue, training of maids, setup and tear down at con.
- Purchasing Department: Processes departmental purchase requests, procures approved items, and coordinates shipping to the Logistics Department.
- Registration Department: Runs the registration system, including registration sales, ID verification, badge issuing, refunds, and con-store pre-orders.
- Staff Feed Department: Oversees the staff break-room meal program, including food delivery, setup, and restocking.
- Vendors Department (Den/Alley):Manages and supports Dealer’s Den and Artist Alley vendors. Relieving vendors as needed, providing breaks, fetching water, supplies, customer service, and assisting at Vendor Services during the convention.
- Venue Liaisons Department: Acts as the central contact with venue/hotel staff for facility needs.
Communications Division
- Copywriting Department: Crafts written content for marketing materials and the convention website.
- Email Support Department: Responds to attendee inquiries via email, using FAQs or working with department leads to resolve and escalate issues.
- Liaisons Department: Provides concierge services for Guests of Honor and VIPs, ensuring their timely arrival at key events and offering assistance with requests.
- Marketing Department: Develops and executes promotional strategies to build convention awareness and drive attendance.
- Photography Department: Captures still images of key events and candid attendee moments for marketing and archival use.
- Social Media Department: Oversees official social media channels and posts announcements throughout the year.
- Videography Department: Records video footage of events and attendees for marketing, live streaming, and archival purposes.
Creative Division
- Art Department
- Graphic Design Team: Handles all graphic design requests, from logos to signage.
- Illustration Team: Produces custom illustrations such as banners, badges, and promotional materials.
- Motion Graphics Team: Creates animations and motion graphics for on-screen displays and video content.
- Con Book Department: Gathers content from departments, designs the convention guide layout with Creative, and oversees printing and delivery.
- Theme Department: Constructs themed props and décor to enhance the visual experience of convention spaces. Develops the convention’s overarching theme concepts, elements, music, and narrative elements.
Gaming Division
- Arcade Gaming Department: Manages the setup, operation, and maintenance of arcade machines throughout the convention.
- Console Gaming Department: Organizes console gaming areas and competitive video game tournaments for attendees.
- Console Gaming Tournament Team: Organizes and manages console gaming tournaments.
- Playground Department: Plans interactive attractions and activities for the convention’s hangout spaces.
- Tabletop Gaming Department: Organizes tabletop game areas, maintains the game library, and oversees tabletop tournaments.
Operations Division
- Accessibility Department: Plans and reviews all accessibility accommodations and staffs the accessibility desk during the convention.
- Con Ops Department:Runs the Info Desk, radio dispatch, and Lost & Found during the convention.
- Fursuit Lounge Department: SSupervises headless lounge spaces, offering cooling stations and rest areas for costumed guests.
- Gofurs Department: Coordinates on-site volunteer sign-ups and provides extra staffing support wherever needed.
- Human Resources Department: Handles volunteer onboarding/offboarding, hour tracking, and HR inquiries.
- Logistics Department: Oversees receipt, storage, and distribution of supplies and vendor shipments throughout the convention.
- Printshop Department: Manages all signage requests, design collaborations with Creative, and the production and placement of event signage.
- Project Management Department: Oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of various aspects of the year round convention planning process.
- Safety Department:Develops public-safety plans and manages incident response throughout the event. Also known as the "Animal Control" team.
Programming Division
- Art Lounge / Workshops Department: Maintains the art lounge spaces, including art workshop area.
- Ceremonies Department: Acts as the master of ceremonies, ensuring the smooth running of ceremonies and key events.
- Dance Comp Department: Manages sign-ups, contest execution, judging, and awards for fursuit and non-fursuit dance competitions.
- DJs Department: Curates DJ performances, handles sign-ups, and manages stage logistics.
- Musicians Department: Organizes live-music performances, artist sign-ups, and scheduling.
- Outdoor Events Department: Plans and manages the Pool Party events and organizes activities for the outdoor spaces.
- Panels & Meetups Department: Coordinates panel proposals, room assignments, and timing for talks and discussions, as well as the overall convention schedule. Also curates and schedules attendee-led meetups and social gatherings.
- Party Floor Department: Plans and manages the party floor.
- Safe Spaces Department
- Littlefurs Room Team: Manages and maintains the 18+ age-play activity room and related programming.
- Pup Room Team: Manages and maintains the 18+ pup-play activity room and related programming.
- Untamed Department: Plans the atmosphere and recruits talent for the adults-only dance.
Technology Division
- IT Department
- IT Network Team: Plans, deploys, and secures the convention’s network infrastructure and digital signage.
- IT Website Team: Develops and maintains the main convention website and custom digital tools.
- Technical Productions Department (A/V Teams)
- Audio Team: Handles live-sound systems, microphones, and audio reinforcement.
- Breakout Rooms Team: Coordinates breakout room setup, equipment management, and participant support.
- Lighting Team: Designs and operates stage lighting, rigging, and control systems.
- Stage Management Team: Coordinates stage operations and liaises between AV and performers.
- Stream Team: Manages live-stream broadcasts, vision mixing, and encoding.
- Video Team: Operates event-stage cameras, vision mixing, and video production.
- Visuals Team: Operates live visuals for performances and events.
- VR Dance Team: Coordinates virtual reality dance performers for main events.
